Great discussion! It always amazes me that the early church struggled with some of the same issues that the church stuggles with today…I appreciate how you brought out the purpose of the law…it’s not like Christians don’t live under any law today, but rather we have been given a higher law by which to live, the law of love. You discussed the word regeneration, but I can’t remember if your provided its definition: what is your understanding of the word regeneration?
Hi Elizabeth, thanks for your comment! We use the word ‘regeneration’ to refer to the ‘rebirth’ (that is the basic meaning of the word) that happens in the Christian when the life of God is in the soul of man and the spiritually dead sinner is ‘reborn’ as a child of God.
