Today: The Crucial Moment for Seeking First God’s Kingdom

Today is really quite simple. If you are a Christian, then you are the servant of God. And all you have to do today is to obey God. Serve him with the breath that you have this day. But perhaps it is helpful to observe that your day consists of just four realities:

Blessings
Trials
Duties
Opportunities

So what should you do with each of these this day?

Give thanks for the blessings of today. There is always something to give thanks for. With open eyes, the blessings are uncountable.

Trust God in the trials of today. Perhaps they are massive, or maybe they are relatively light. Surely they exist, in some form, today. Respond with faith to the God who has placed them in your life.

Fulfill the duties of today. They are what God has given you, and you are in his service. Fulfill them heartily, with an eye to please your heavenly Father.

Take advantage of the opportunities of today. This day contains opportunities which may not be obvious, but will reveal themselves if you are observant. As you find these opportunities, take advantage of them. They are given by God, like hidden gems strewn along the path of your life.

In summary, today, seek first His kingdom and righteousness. And everything else is in His hands.
