Augustine of Hippo: Between Two Worlds
Augustine of Hippo stood between two worlds. His own story is that of a man of the world who eventually entered the “City of God.” Chronologically, he teetered on the final days of the Roman Empire, just as the world was about to enter the medieval era. Not only did his thought usher in this new age, but it continues to influence us right up to the present. More than that, Augustine was a deep thinker about the human person, and his understanding of what makes us “tick” provides profound insights into human nature.
