Three Great Podcasts

Three Great Podcasts

You may not have a long commute, but if you spend any time driving, then podcasts are your friend. Even though I only live 13 minutes from work, it is amazing how such short times add up. While I’m a big fan of audio books, podcasts are superior in several ways – they aren’t long, they are free, and they are designed to be listened to.

How do you decide which podcasts to listen to? Since I don’t have much spare time, there are only a few podcasts that I listen to regularly. The three shows below have stellar content and great quality, so if you are looking for recommendations, you can’t go wrong with them. (If you want a fourth recommendation, may I humbly suggest Timothy Talks? Season two just launched today!)

Lead to Win

Lead to Win with Michael Hyatt is my go-to podcast for self-improvement, leadership, and intentionality. I’ve been listening to this podcast for years, and the information is both practical and interesting. Billed as ‘timeless wisdom for lasting success,’ this show promises to give you ‘the insights and tools you need to win at work and succeed at life.’ I highly recommend that you give it a try!

The Briefing

Albert Mohler is president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Recognized as a leader of evangelicals, his ‘briefing’ feels like just that – a briefing of news and events in the situation room, with a clear Christian perspective. Mohler has a hundred-thousand foot perspective on the world, making him a master of showing the bigger picture behind seemingly unrelated events. If I want to learn about culture, current events, and the world around me, The Briefing is what I listen to.

Tides of History

Not everyone is a fan of history, but even the most reluctant will enjoy Patrick Wyman’s narratives. This show “helps us understand our world and how it got to be the way it is.” Filled with stories that trace the broader picture of history, Tides of History has episodes on medieval Europe, the fall of Rome, the Reformation, and many other times and events. It is education but also highly enjoyable!

So, if you need new podcasts to listen to, check these out – and even if you already have some favorites, it never hurts to explore new ones! I’d love to hear what you are listening to, so feel free to drop a comment and give me your favorite recommendations!
